TORICA is an American singer-songwriter, who knew from a young age that music was her calling. After Howard University, she moved to Atlanta to pursue her dreams. Within a year, she featured on the Billboard hit single, Sick of Being Lonely, with MCA/Geffen rap duo, Field Mob.
After gracing stages, like Jimmy Kimmel Live and Soul Train, Torica began to emerge as a songwriter. She inked a lucrative publishing deal with Warner Chappell and Grammy-winning producer, Bryan Michael Cox. Later writing a song for Monica, which appeared on her platinum-selling Still LP on J Records. After a chance meeting with MMG/Warner Bros producer AOne Beats, they partnered to released Torica’s debut studio album, A Beautiful Mess.
Torica describes what it is like to be a woman in music today. “I think all women are superheroes in their own right and I feel like I’m the girl who can identify with every girl. I’ve been in love, I’ve been hurt, I’m juggling a career, I’m a mother, I’m making strides in a male-dominated industry, I’m my own boss. But ’m doing it humbly and gracefully in high heels.”
Torica is also a humanitarian, serving as a Celebrity Angel for Malaika for Life, an organization that raises funds and awareness for the fight against childhood Malaria in Africa. She also launched her own annual beauty drive, in which she collects beauty products for women in homeless shelters.
She is currently impacting radio nationally with her new hit single, What If, produced by the Olympicks, who have worked with Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross, Tyga, and YMCMB. Torica is in the studio recording her upcoming EP, The Best or Nothing.
